My not-quite-yet layout for my final boards. The first two are the same, just with different pictures and therefore a different layout as I figure out which paintings I want to take to final finish.
I’ll also probably end up lightening up/desaturating the purple background and making the stoop drawing bigger, as per my instructor Joko’s suggestions. Aaaand also making my title bar much smaller.
Thesis work. Forever in-progress.
More game design stuff—working on rough concepts of props. Added a few more details like the gold trim and different values on the statues after some feedback from my instructor.
Sketches for game design. I’m trying to decide whether or not I should be obnoxiously bright about my colors for the final state.
Putting some of my assets together on my rough game board to see how they look. I think they stand out much more with the top color design.
I was so excited to work on my homework for next week I actually started it tonight after class. (And also just in time for Halloween)
My teacher had the great idea to combine my previous house drawing with my evil sorceress tower (so it would look less Rapunzel-y), and instead of having the tree separate, to wrap it around the structure instead.
It’s supposed to be a three-state buildable (or destructable, in this case), and these are more-or-less the first two stages. I may still end up changing some things around to make the damage more pronounced and the silhouette stronger.
Color studies for my game board. The ones with the green border are the studies I’m leaning towards. We were required to do six but I did 14 (four were really ugly, so I cut them out), because I need all the practice I can get when it comes to color and lighting.
EDIT: also added my characters so I could see how the colors all looked together.
Some thumbnails for different game boards for my social games class. I wonder if it’s going a little too creepy in feel/design, but maybe it’ll look less so once I add in my more saturated colors palate.
More recent commission work from the past few weeks(?)
One of my thumbnails for my isomeric game board.
You guys. Game design is. So. Fun.
By some kind of miracle, I really like my figure painting today, so have some progress pictures!
